This path, as well as enriching technical skills, aims to lead to the creation of a photographic project for each participant by providing a basis of ideas and methods and a sort of medium-term assistance for its construction and completion.

 

The man, like every living being he is subject to a pleasant condemnation: evolve, progress.
Therefore, knowing an expressive technique without giving it a meaning is equivalent to a little’ to deprive her of the possibility of a life, reduce a practice to an object.
So all that remains is progive in, move forward. This involves study, I commit, courage and determination.
We must therefore project our own person into the world we portray, throw yourself beyond mere vision and design images by choosing to make them become photographs.
Attention is therefore paid to the man who becomes the author of a project that arises from his own world and his own way of life as John Waters states “A true photograph of the external world tells us about the internal one”.

The intent of such I walk is therefore to create a path that leads, as well as enriching their technical skills, to create your own photographic project, to find a topic, a reason, a red thread that brings together images or visions.
Basic technical knowledge is taken for granted, there will therefore be a compendium on some "advanced" functions of modern cameras and the most advanced possibilities that digital postproduction offers to the author, with particular attention to OpenSource software.

It is therefore a sort of medium-term assistance in building a personal photographic project and deepening technical knowledge.

They will intervene in different ways and at different times:

Francesco Lucifora – freelance curator and art critic
Rosario Antoci – teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania and artist
Isabella New – freelance photographer and curator

The path consists of 10 meetings for a total of approximately 20 ore.

The meetings will take place weekly (day and time to be defined) and they will last 2 ore.
At the end of the course there will be a collective photographic exhibition of all the participants.
The cost is €200, extendable in two installments, from 120€ and from 80€.

A path in the direction of space and the possibility of capturing and representing the form and substance that resides around us. The elements that characterize this investigation are architecture and landscape understood as both material and involuntary human production. The objective of the meetings is to identify the shapes returned by other objects, be they buildings, atmospheres, shadows or reflections. Space becomes the subject of photography and the architecture of cities, of places and emptiness/fullness becomes the path to follow with curiosity, lightness and abstraction. This path aims to free the human and photographic eye from the heaviness of a gaze tamed by the subject or from the phobia of immortalizing something defined. Space Photography is the introduction to the freedom of form present in nature and within each of us. Brief notes on architecture and landscape photography, monographic focuses and field practice.

The path will often address technical topics but with the foresight that these are always useful tools for the author to facilitate the creation.
