A school-work alternation project that combines photography, audio and topography: discovering the potential of the tools we have in our hands
Our senses, especially hearing and sight, allow us to perceive reality.
Media Pins, based on this consideration, blends photography, topography and audio to objectively express how people live in Modica in 2017 It is in the 2018.
The visual synthesis of this data is a map and therefore a well-defined territory, or the city, which hosts a constellation of pointers (pins) of different expressive languages (media).
With this map, the Modica archive is enriched with a large amount of lasting information with the mission of establishing an intergenerational dialogue.
The School-Work Alternation project
This project was created by the students of the Liceo Galilei-Campailla who joined during their school years 2016/2017 e 2017/2018 to the School-Work Alternation project of the same name through the LAP association.
The Alternation project included a theoretical phase with many frontal lessons, many hours of practice and laboratory.
The students became familiar with:
- professional equipment (reflex digitali, to score a big goal, audio recorders, GPS recorders)
- own equipment (smartphone and digital camera)
- laboratory station with a computer connected to the internet.
To create this work we used exclusively OpenSource software: for developing photographs Rawtherapee, for audio editing Audacity e WordPress for the web.
